SW Vermont Street Sewer Replacement Project

NE Glisan and SE 94th Storm Drainage Improvements

Environmental Services completed construction on a project to repair and build sediment/sump systems near NE Glisan Street at NE 91st and 92nd avenues, and on SE 94th Avenue north of SE Stark Street to help prevent sewer and stormwater overflows to homes, businesses, and streets.

SW Alder Street Rose Lane Project Phase 2

W Burnside Street Pavement Resurfacing Project

NW 22nd Ave Sewer Extension Project

Environmental Services installed approximately 100-feet of sewer pipe on NW 22nd Ave south of NW Johnson St. This resolves nonconforming sewer connections and provide properties independent connections to the public sewer.

NW Thurman Street Bridge Project Painting

Given its age and condition, the Balch Gulch Bridge was in critical need of modernization and rehabilitation. Uneven wooden sidewalks caused pedestrians to trip and slip during soggy Portland days.

Thompson Elk Fountain restoration project

The Portland Water Bureau and partners repaired the historic Thompson Elk Fountain and returned the statue to its original location on SW Main Street.

SW 45th Flower Place to Vermont Street Pavement Project

PBOT will place new asphalt concrete along SW 45th Avenue from Vermont Street to Cameron Road. This includes new pedestrian crossings, multiuse paths, ADA Ramps, roadway striping, and new sidewalks. In addition, this project will include a raised bike-lane and pedestrian walkway.

SW 17th Avenue Emergency Sewer Repair

Emergency repairs on the sinkhole have been completed. Further repairs to more sections of the trunk sewer line are anticipated to begin in Spring 2026. Final Paving Scheduled for July 16 and 17.
Environmental Services has repaired a sinkhole that developed on SW 17th Avenue between SW Columbia and SW Clay streets. The sinkhole exposed a cavity beneath the roadway revealing damage to a brick-constructed sewer trunk line that was built in 1889.

SE Ladd-Tamarack Ave Alley Sewer Repair

Environmental Services and the Portland Water Bureau have upgraded sewer and water pipes in the alley between SE Division and SE Lavender streets. These improvements increase sewer capacity, reduce flooding, and improve water service reliability.
