The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will reconfigure this roadway as a protected bike lane. The project limits are along S Bertha Blvd. from SW Vermont St. to SW Barbur Blvd. The intent is to reorganize the roadway to provide protected bike lanes.

N Winchell and Watts St. Sewer Extension Project

Construction started in August 2025 and finished in September 2025.
Environmental Services has completed construction on a project to extend the public sewer system in N Winchell and N Watts Streets east of Fenwick Avenue. This work is part of the City’s ongoing effort to provide a way to directly and independently connect to the public sewer system.

SW 45th Flower Place to Vermont Street Pavement Project

Construction from May to August 2025
PBOT will place new asphalt concrete along SW 45th Avenue from Vermont Street to Cameron Road. This includes new pedestrian crossings, multiuse paths, ADA Ramps, roadway striping, and new sidewalks. In addition, this project will include a raised bike-lane and pedestrian walkway.

SW 17th Avenue Emergency Sewer Repair

Emergency repairs on the sinkhole have been completed. Further repairs to more sections of the trunk sewer line are anticipated to begin in Spring 2026. Final Paving Scheduled for July 16 and 17.
Environmental Services has repaired a sinkhole that developed on SW 17th Avenue between SW Columbia and SW Clay streets. The sinkhole exposed a cavity beneath the roadway revealing damage to a brick-constructed sewer trunk line that was built in 1889.

SE 52nd Avenue Crossing Improvement Project

Design and implement safer crossings for people walking and biking on SE 52nd Avenue at SE Center Street and SE Gladstone Street.
Construction complete by summer 2027
Create a safe walking path along SE Glenwood Street between 44th and 45th Avenues and address ponding issues.
In Planning
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is planning improvements to tennis courts at Westmoreland and Clinton Parks. These major maintenance projects build on the Outdoor Tennis Court and Emerging Recreation Strategy to support tennis programming and provide opportunities for emerging recreational uses.

SW Capitol Highway Street Lighting

This project will improve streetlighting on SW Capitol Highway and 49th from SW Garden Home to Stephenson.
Construction expected in summer 2026.
Create a new neighborhood greenway on SE Tolman Street from SE 52nd Avenue to SE 92nd Avenue making the street safer and more comfortable for people walking and biking.
Construction to be completed in 2026.
Convert SE Steele Street and SE Mitchell Court into a neighborhood greenway between SE 52nd and SE 77th avenues making it safer and more comfortable for people walking and biking.
Construction completed 2024
As part of this project, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will make pedestrian crossing improvements at NE Glisan Street and 80th Avenue.
Completed in 2025
PBOT delivered fresh pavement and safety improvements to NE Weidler Street in 2025.
