Construction began in Spring 2025. This project to help restore Johnson Creek is now complete.
Environmental Services designed a project to restore about 18 acres in the Johnson Creek floodplain. The project reconnected Johnson Creek to its historic floodplain, reduced flooding on private property, restored habitat for fish and wildlife, and improved water quality in the creek.

SW 42nd and Lee Street Sewer Relocation

This project is currently in the 60% design phase. Planning will continue throughout 2026.
Environmental Services is designing a project to relocate and upsize the public sewer system within the Bridlemile neighborhood. This work is part of the City’s effort to provide property owners with a way to directly and independently connect to the sewer system to meet current plumbing code.
