On November 4, 2025, Safe Blocks, the Street Service Coordinator Center (SSCC), Portland Solutions, Cascadia Behavioral Health, Urban League of Portland, POIC, Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church – Saturday Good Samaritans, and Nurture, all contributed to the community receiving free hot meals and access to a food pantry at Dawson Park.
Clothing was available and distributed, as well as inclement weather gear and materials handed out by the Urban League.
This food pantry and resource fair came at a time when SNAP benefits were temporarily discontinued as a result of the federal government shutdown.
Community members were extremely appreciative of the food, clothing, and housing, and look forward to first Tuesdays of the month at Dawson Park, to help with food insecurity, warm clothing distribution, and a free hot meal.
