Looking for something fun and educational for your youth ages 11-14 to do this summer? Check out the Rose City Self-Defense youth summer camp on July 13-16 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Family YMCA on SE 60th & Foster.

Rose City Self-Defense's youth camps are designed to be student-centered, with hands-on practice and activities to help youth identify their risks, evaluate their strengths, and explore options for dealing with the threat of danger.
Topics include:
- Trusting and using your intuition;
- How bias affects your judgment;
- Establishing and setting boundaries;
- Assertive communication;
- The benefits and risks of various escape options;
- Healthy relationships and consent; and
- Physical self-defense strikes and escapes.
Camps are open to young people ages 11 through 14 who identify as cis or trans girls or identify within the LGBTQIA2S+ Community.
Register now for the July camps.
Adults generally do not attend summer camps with the youth, however if your youth are more comfortable with their adult attending, please reach out to us.
Snacks provided for all attendees.
