LGBTQIA2S+ Introductory Class (ages 14 and up)

This class focuses on specific safety concerns of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. We welcome all Portlanders.  Please fill out our online registration form on or after the registration date listed for each month.

  • Please plan to attend all three sessions at the location you select.
  • Please cancel your registration before the first session if you cannot attend all three
    sessions.

Introductory Class Schedules

The LGBTQIA2S+ Introductory class focuses on the specific safety concerns of the Queer community, including the topics of: Trusting and using your intuition, how bias affects your judgment, establishing and setting boundaries, assertive communication, de-Escalation Strategies, the benefits and Risks of various Escape Options, negotiating consent, healthy/unhealthy relationships, signs of abusive relationships, as well as many physical self-defense strikes and escapes. Introductory Classes are open to ages 14 and above. Young people under 18 need to be accompanied by a participating adult.

JUNE 2026
Registration opens Tuesday, May 5th at 6:00 pm

Thursdays, June 4th, 11th and 18th from 6:00-9:15 pm in the SE Foster/Powell neighborhood (address given upon registration)
