Introductory Class Schedules
The Community-based Introductory Class focuses on the topics of: Trusting and using your intuition, how bias affcts your judgment, establishing and setting boundaries, assertive communication, de-Escalation Strategies, the benefits and Risks of various Escape Options, negotiating consent, healthy/unhealthy relationships, signs of abusive relationships, as well as many physical self-defense strikes and escapes. Introductory Classes are open to ages 13 and above. Young women under 16 need to be accompanied by a participating adult.
FALL CLASS SCHEDULE
SEPTEMBER
Registration opens Tuesday, August 5th @ 6:00 pm
Introductory class on Tuesdays, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 5:30-8:45 pm in the Brentwood/Darlington Neighborhood (exact address given upon request)
OCTOBER
Registration opens Tuesday, September 2nd @ 6:00 pm
Introductory class on Sundays, October 5th, 12th and 19th from 12:00-3:15 in the SW Neighborhood (exact address given upon registration)
NOVEMBER
Registration opens Tuesday, October 7th @ 6:00 pm
Introductory Class Saturdays, November 1st, 8th and 15th from 12:30-3:45 in the NW Neighborhood (exact address given upon registration)
Intermediate: Defense Against Weapons Class
Intermediate Weapons Class is open to students who have taken our Introductory class within the past 2 years. Must be 18 years or older.
SEPTEMBER
Registration opens on Tuesday, August 5th at 6:00 pm
Tuesday, September 23rd & Thursday, September 25th from 6:15-9:15 pm in the Foster/Powell Neighborhood (exact address given upon registration)
Refresher Class
This class is for students who have taken the Introductory class within the past 2 years. This class is a review of all of the physical self-defense skills you learned as well as a review of some of the non-physical components. Must be at least 13 years of age (13-16 accompanied by a trusted adult).
