The Portland Office of Violence Prevention is now accepting applications for the 2025 Spring Break Youth Safety Initiative Grant to help reduce violence: principally, gun violence through collaborative community-based prevention efforts during Spring Break (March 22nd – March 30th).

A total of $175,000 is available for programs and activities with organizations able to apply for up to $25,000. Grant awards may vary based on the scope of work and number of community members served.

This grant prioritizes prevention efforts in the Cully, Hazelwood, Eliot, and Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhoods, along with other areas known for high rates of violent incidences and gun violence. Organizations throughout Portland are still encouraged to apply.

Examples of programs supported by the grant include:

  • Preventative programs, workshops, camps, and events;
  • Flexible funds for direct community assistance and services;
  • Youth and adult mediation and mentoring programs;
