The Office of Violence Prevention's Community Partnerships and Investments team advances community safety by investing in the people, organizations, and partnerships working to address the root causes of violence and build safe communities.
Through the Safer Portland Grants program, Spring Break Sponsorships, and other community investment opportunities, the team provides resources to community-based organizations delivering violence prevention services and supports that reduce risk factors and strengthen protective factors. These investments support youth development, workforce opportunities, behavioral health services, restorative practices, family stability, positive community engagement and social activities. Spring Break Sponsorships provide targeted funding to community partners that create safe, positive, and enriching opportunities for all Portlanders during a critical period when risks for violence can increase.
The team also cultivates strong community partnerships through the Community Peace Collaborative (CPC), community convenings, and strategic engagement efforts that bring together residents, community-based organizations, and public agencies to align resources, strengthen relationships, and advance community-led solutions to violence.
By investing in community capacity and fostering collaboration, the Community Partnerships and Investments team helps create more connected neighborhoods while supporting long-term efforts to prevent violence before it occurs.
