- The Bureau of Transportation shall be under the direction and control of the Director of Transportation. The Director shall be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the groups of the Bureau of Transportation to assure the goals of the City Council are met and the mission and goals of the Bureau of Transportation are achieved. This includes responsibility for productivity, responsiveness and effectiveness of the services and programs of the Bureau of Transportation.
- The Director of Transportation shall have authority to issue administrative rules and regulations in addition to those specified in the Charter and this Code, as are appropriate to provide for the adequate functioning of the Bureau and to carry out the responsibilities under this Section. The City Engineer shall be an employee within the Bureau of Transportation. Responsibilities and authorities of the City Engineer provided in this Code shall be performed by a Professional Engineer.
