14B.20.020 Designation of Drug-Free Zones.

  1. A.  If the City Council designates an area meeting the criteria of Section 14B.20.010 of this Code to be a drug-free zone, Council shall do so by ordinance.  The designation shall be valid for a period of three (3) years.
  2. B.  The office of the Chief of Police of the Portland Police Bureau is directed to report to City Council at least ninety (90) days before the end of the period referred to in section 14B.20.020 A., as to whether there is a need to re-configure the drug-free zones enumerated in 14B.20.070.
  3. C.  This Chapter, and the procedures and exercise of exclusion authority it contains, are valid until September 30, 2007.
  4. D.  The office of the Chief of Police of the Portland Police Bureau is directed to report to City Council at least ninety (90) days before the expiration of this Chapter as to whether there is a need to re-authorize this Chapter.
