On August 21, the Independent District Commission (IDC) unanimously adopted a District Plan. The IDC selected a revised version of the proposed Alder Map as Portland’s new map defining four geographic voting districts for election of city councilors. The first election to use the new voting districts will happen in November 2024. Ultimately the commission decided the revised Alder map was the best option for Portland, as it promoted strong collaboration and community engagement for the city’s future. The recent revisions to the map were based on public comments.
The Transition Team has put together a short video (en Español) showing how you can look up which new district you live in. There is also a video tutorial about how to view additional boundary information.
