Since 1996, MYC has trained and activated 479 youth—allowing them to grow leadership skills and build civic engagement power to take ownership of the region’s outlook.

Last week, the MYC issued a press release to continue the tradition of having a youth-led advisory body for Multnomah County and the City of Portland to shape the region’s future. Last year, the MYC creatively (and virtually) tackled a variety of policies and civic engagement initiatives including voter education, transit equity, and anti-violence.

MYC is seeking applications from the next generation (between the ages of 13 to 21) to participate in local government. Applications are due by Friday, April 16 at 5 p.m. Learn more and apply to become part of the MYC: https://multco.us/multnomah-youth-commission.
