Renew a Liquor License

Renew your annual liquor license with both Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) and the City of Portland.

The renewal process will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete

  1. Gather necessary information for City renewal

    Each year, the OLCC will send a letter to liquor license holders with renewal information. Follow the instructions in your letter to renew your annual liquor license with both the OLCC and the City of Portland by the named deadline.

    The City will not accept renewal payments submitted more than three months in advance of the license expiration date.

    Please note: The processing time for mailed payment will be longer than online payment and may take up to 30 days.

    Fee: $35

    Lost or expired renewals: The license applicant must complete the renewal at least 20 days before the license expires to avoid late fees from the OLCC. Applicants cannot legally sell or serve alcohol after the license expires.

  2. Mail your renewal payment to the City

    1. Make a copy of your renewal notice.
    2. Fill out the form.
    3. Mail one copy with check made out to the “City of Portland” to the Office of Community & Civic Life - Liquor Licensing Program, Renewals (address below).
    4. Mail the second copy and a separate payment to the OLCC using the instructions on the notice.
