Welcoming Week 2026 is a festival of events that build strong community support for immigrant and refugees in Portland. Events include art, performances, information, and community discussions. All events are free. Everyone is welcome. Join us!

We invite all community members, partners, organizations, and City employees to join us for Welcoming Week 2026, a citywide celebration recognizing the contributions, cultures, and leadership of immigrants and refugees who help make Portland a vibrant and welcoming place to live, work, and thrive.
Our theme for 2026 is "From Arrival to Belonging: Centering Community Voices & Building Welcoming Systems." This reflects our commitment to fostering connection, civic participation, and belonging for everyone in our community.
Throughout the week, residents will have opportunities to engage with local leaders, connect with community organizations, learn about available resources, participate in educational workshops, and celebrate the diverse cultures that strengthen Portland.
Whether you're attending an event, volunteering, connecting with community organizations, or simply learning more about your neighbors, everyone has a role in building a more welcoming Portland.

Launch Day – Opening Celebration & Proclamation

Join the City of Portland as we officially launch Welcoming Week 2026, a celebration of the strength, cultures, contributions, and leadership of Portland's immigrant and refugee communities.
The morning will bring together community members, elected officials, City leaders, and community partners for a welcoming celebration featuring cultural performances, light refreshments, community connection, and the official Welcoming Week proclamation.
