While residents may not interact directly with many of our teams, our work enables every bureau to serve Portland safely, efficiently and responsibly. City Operations supports more than 7,500 City employees across 11 bureaus and offices, manages a $1 billion operating budget, processes thousands of procurement transactions annually, maintains more than 600 City vehicles, provides 24/7 technology and security support, and handles more than 238,000 customer service requests each year.
