0830.00 Arrest Without Warrant Police Directive Pending Enactment

The Directive was rewritten for clarity, simplicity, and to better reflect best practices and Bureau values. Sections on Citations-in-Lieu of Custody, Drug Offenses, and Citizen’s Arrests were removed, as they are either not procedurally distinct from standard arrests or covered in other areas.

0840.00 Arrest With Warrant Police Directive Pending Enactment

The Directive was rewritten to be in-line with current standards for directives and to eliminate extraneous or outdated content. Consequently, the directive was almost entirely redrafted, organizing it into requirements for serving and applying for arrest warrants.

0850.10 Custody, Civil Holds Police Directive Pending Enactment

The revised Directive aims to provide guidance for officers on their legal authority to place intoxicated individuals on civil holds while simultaneously dealing with the reality that no replacement for the closed Hooper Sobering Center exists. It also introduces a new form for officers to use when placing people on holds to enhance communication with other first responders and clinical staff.

This directive is in its second universal review. Primarily, the changes incorporate public feedback to increase clarity in terminology along with timelines for reporting.

0640.20 Sexual Assault Kits and Sexual Assault Investigations Police Directive Second Universal Review

This directive has undergone minor changes to reflect changes in the Bureau's organizational structure. Substantive changes have been made to detective notifications to better reflect when an immediate response by detectives has investigative value.  Lastly a change has been made to allow non-sworn members to collect SA Kits.

0345.00 Employee Information System (EIS) Police Directive First Universal Review

This directive was initially posted for Second Universal Review in October of 2021. The Policy Development Team (PDT) delayed implementation of the directive at that time pending work on several other directives. Given the prolonged delay the directive is being posted again for first universal review. The PDT anticipates making minor changes to the directive to reflect changes in the Bureau's organizational structure. The PDT also looks to provide a comprehensive definition of traumatic event, to better capture the degree of stress and trauma officers are exposed to.

This directive is up for first universal review. It was last reviewed in 2022. We anticipate there will be very few changes.

This directive is up for first universal review. It was last reviewed in 2022. We don't anticipate many changes to this policy.
