| 0630.61 Stolen Vehicles - Executive Summary | Police Directive Pending Enactment | This directive has been updated to create more flexibility for officers to recover stolen vehicles when faced with potential hazards, and additional documentation requirements for contacting vehicle owners. |
| 0630.61 Stolen Vehicles - Second Universal Review | Police Directive Second Universal Review | The Policy Development Team made several changes to the directive. The updated draft includes additional requirements for members to document attempts to contact vehicle owners prior to tows. It also creates an explicit ability to tow vehicles when staffing or safety does not allow officers to leave a vehicle in place while waiting for the owner. The updated draft also includes the option for officers to document a community member's report of a stolen vehicle, when it does not meet the standard for entry as a stolen vehicle, for example when the reporting party lacks proof of ownership. |
| 0630.61 Stolen Vehicles - First Universal Review | Police Directive First Universal Review | This directive is being reviewed to ensure the current practices around towing stolen vehicles are effective, and to review rules about stolen vehicle reports. At this time no major changes are expected. |
