Description of Change
The Bureau made significant revisions to this directive, including changes to definitions to bring them in line with updated statutory language. Changes were also made to the investigations section refining the list of considerations members should look for when trying to identify Bias Crimes. Lastly changes were made to the reporting and notification requirements to improve the flow of information between patrol officers conducting initial investigations, the Detective Division, and command staff.
