About the Event

In 2023, ten projects from Brazil, Chile, Lithuania, Philippines, Senegal, Thailand, Uganda, United Kingdom, and the United States were selected to create fair, inclusive and greener communities by advancing procurement reforms as part of the Open Contracting Partnership’s 18-month impact accelerator program Lift.

The City of Portland competed among 170 applicants and was awarded one of those ten spots. In Portland, the accelerator project aimed at improving how we plan, procure, award and implement contracts.

The City is also proud to be the first in the nation to publish contracting data using the Open Contracting Data Standard, the globally recognized open standard for procurement-related data.

For decision-makers within the City, the Open Contracting Data Standard is a valuable tool for addressing business challenges, particularly during resource-constrained times.

For city employees involved in contracting, the Open Contracting Data Standard helps set clear goals and track progress. For Portland residents, it boosts transparency around city contracts and helps improve service delivery.

As the 18-month Lift Program comes to a close, the Portland Lift Team, in collaboration with Procurement Services and City Operations, invites you to join us in celebrating the team's accomplishments.

At the event, be sure to visit hands-on activity stations where you can explore Portland’s contract data and try out the new tools firsthand.
