Welcome

The City of Portland is excited to be implementing the SAP Ariba system to improve supplier registration, bidding and contracting systems and processes for both our suppliers and our staff.

About the Project

The City is implementing SAP Ariba to improve systems for registering suppliers, posting bidding opportunities and executing contracts.

Suppliers that are new to SAP Ariba will find the system to be integrated and modernized.  For example, banking and financial information will be collected securely online.  Also, bidding opportunities, bid submission and contract negotiation will all take place online in Ariba.

Suppliers that already do business on SAP Ariba will be able to easily do business with the City of Portland using their existing SAP Business Network account.

When Are These Changes Taking Place?

On February 10, 2025, the City will begin using the SAP Ariba system to register suppliers.  Existing City contractors and other suppliers will be migrated in waves to the new system.  New suppliers to the City will initiate registration themselves using SAP Ariba.

In August of 2025, the City will begin using the SAP Ariba system to post solicitations, collect and evaluate supplier bids & proposals, and to negotiate and execute contracts.

What Do Suppliers Need To Know and Do?

At different points in the project, different actions will be required of suppliers.  The City is committed to sharing the information suppliers need (along with training & support resources) when suppliers need it throughout the project.

Please refer to the Ariba Key Supplier Information Page for the most current and relevant information available!
