About CBO

The City Budget Office (CBO) provides timely, accurate, and unfiltered information and analysis regarding budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal policy issues to the Mayor, Councilors, City Auditor, City bureaus, and the public.
The Community Budget Advisory Board consists of five members who are residents of the City of Portland and are nominated and confirmed by City Council. They serve staggered three-year terms and may be reappointed. They participate in Council budget deliberations.
The public is invited to provide year-round written comments related to the City of Portland's budget, or testimonies on specific Council Agenda items related to the budget process. These comments will be shared with City Council members and leadership and included in the public record.
