Over 28% respondents experienced difficulties accessing technology in the past year
Internet technology is an increasingly important tool for community members to access City services. The survey asked if people experienced technology issues and the type of issues in the past 12 months. Over 28 percent of respondents couldn’t afford reliable devices or data services or experienced other issues.
Ability to find a job that pays enough
A little under half of Portlanders could find a job that pays enough to support themselves and their families.
Finding a job in Portland that provides for oneself and one’s family is not the same for everyone. Among working age respondents between 18 and 72 years of age, a little under half of them agreed with the statement that “I can find a job that pays enough to support myself and/or my family,” while over one quarter disagreed.
A little over a third of respondents knew about Small Business Support and Job Training programs
About half of those who said they needed these programs said they did not know about them.
