Submitting Digital Files

Information
Not all digital files are created and submitted perfectly. This can result in a finished product differing from your expectations. The following are simple guidelines to follow when submitting digital files with your order. This can minimize mistakes and reduce your final cost.

Most Common Problems Encountered With Digital Files

  • All fonts used are not included with the job
  • All graphics used are not included with the job
  • The application is not compatible with formats we accept
  • No hardcopy is provided

Solutions for Avoiding Problematic Files

Be sure to include all fonts and graphics needed to print your job. Always include a printed proof and/or mock-up of your job so that we know exactly what you are expecting. If your job is more than one color, always include a color-separated proof as well.

We accept the following file formats, but we prefer Adobe PDF:

  • Adobe PDF and Illustrator
  • Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Publisher
  • InDesign
  • QuarkXPress

Variable Data

This is the adding of personalized data to static forms or artwork. Examples include the addressing of envelopes and self-mailers and postcards, the addition of specific or unique information to individual forms, and the addition of financial or billing data to forms. Have your originals in print-ready electronic format (PDF preferred), or hard copy. Submit the variable data as an Excel workbook. Either black or colored ink are acceptable, in sizes as large as 11in by 17in.
