City rate increases go into effect on July 1
Rates and fees pay for the vital services Portlanders rely on every day, like water, sewers, streets, parks and garbage pickup. Rate and fee increases support operations, repair and replacement to keep our city safe and sustainable. Here's a summary for fiscal year 2025-26.

Mills School deconstruction gives historic bricks a second life
On June 7, 2025, bricks deconstructed from the Mills Open Air School in SE Portland got a new life thanks to a city-run brick giveaway day.

Proposed Draft released to create new standards for approving public infrastructure projects located in natural areas
The Planning Commission will hold a hearing on July 22nd to review draft proposals to streamline public infrastructure upgrades and improvements in natural areas. The public is encouraged to tune in and participate. Information on how to sign up to testify or submit comments can be found below.
