The West Portland Town Center Growth Concept A focuses on shared growth, a Green Ring, and jobs.

All the concepts include a new main street on SW Collins St east of Capitol Hwy, redevelopment of the Barbur Transit Center (BTC) and preservation of larger low-cost apartment complexes in area. Highlights include the unique features of each growth concept to show how they are different.

  • Focus on employment/office uses between Barbur and I-5
  • Residential growth in new multi-dwelling buildings both north and south of Barbur
  • A multicultural mixed use hub southwest of the Capitol Highway and Barbur crossing
  • A “Green Ring” route around the town center
  • Pedestrian and bicycle improvements on main local streets
