This event introduces the plan for the participatory policy making roadmap and basic concepts of the path for policy making in the City of Portland. This event will Inform the community about the plan and roadmap to develop the City of Portland surveillance technologies policy.

You will learn about the City’s policy making process, what is the difference between an ordinance and a resolution? What is a City Code Chapter? How is a City policy approved?, and more. 

This event will rely on publicly available information about the City of Portland policy drafting process, particularly on the ‘Drafting manual for ordinances, resolutions and reports’, maintained by the City Auditor’s Office. This manual can be directly downloaded in this link.

This event will be presented by the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability Smart City PDX Program and the Office of Equity and Human Rights.
