This is the open discussion and conversation for Module I of the policy - Inventories, reporting, and oversight. This event is part of the participatory process for the City of Portland’s surveillance technologies policy development.

This meeting will include the following discussion topics: Surveillance technologies definition, format of inventory, all bureaus, discuss exemption process, major events, reporting and audits.

Introductory video

You will learn about the City’s policy making process, what is the difference between an ordinance and a resolution? What is a City Code Chapter? How is a City policy approved?, and more. 

This event will rely on publicly available information about the City of Portland policy drafting process, particularly on the ‘Drafting manual for ordinances, resolutions and reports’, maintained by the City Auditor’s Office. This manual can be directly downloaded in this link.

This event will be presented by the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability Smart City PDX Program and the Office of Equity and Human Rights.
