COVID-19 outbreak alters project schedule; work sessions postponed.

After a public hearing on Feb. 25 and a work session on March 10 re: the River Plan/South Reach Proposed Draft, the Planning and Sustainability Commission was scheduled to hold another work session on April 14. In response to COVID-19, that meeting has been rescheduled.  

Planning and Sustainability Commission next steps 

Project planners will continue discussions with the PSC at their meetings on May 12 at 12:30 p.m. and May 26 at 5 p.m. Please check the PSC calendar one week before each meeting for the exact time on the PSC meeting agenda. The meeting is streamed live on our YouTube channel. Both the meeting materials and the You Tube link can be accessed from the calendar link.  

Design Commission schedule 

The Portland Design Commission will also hold a public hearing on River Plan/South Reach proposals related to the City's design guidelines. Specifically, staff recommendations call for repealing the Macadam Corridor Design Guidelines (1985) and replacing them with the soon-to-be-adopted Citywide Design Guidelines and a special character statement for the Macadam Corridor and Riverfront area. 

The Design Commission hearing will likely be in June or July, and more information will be posted as details are finalized.
