PSC work sessions continue on January 11

Catch up on prior work sessions with the Planning and Sustainability Commission as they consider potential amendments to the West Portland Town Center Plan.

The Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) continues its discussion of the West Portland Town Center Plan - Proposed Draft at its regular meeting on Tuesday,  January 11, which starts at 12:30 p.m. The WPTC work session is scheduled to begin at approximately 2:15 p.m. You can watch the PSC meeting on YouTube. Materials for the work session, including draft amendments to the plan, will be posted online before the January 11 meeting.  

What’s happened so far?

The PSC held two virtual hearings on the Proposed Draft of the WPTC Plan on September 14 and September 28. Dozens of people testified on the Plan either in writing or in person. Public testimony for the PSC is now closed, but all comments received so far are available for viewing online. 

On October 26, the commissioners heard from a panel of community-based organizations and partner agencies.  

And on November 9 and November 30, the Commission held the first two of a series of work sessions on the Proposed Draft.

The Design Commission continued its work sessions on the WPTC Character Statement (found in Volume 2, Section 6) on December 9.

Though testimony is closed, you can still review the WPTC Plan Proposed Draft and visit the Proposed Draft online overview and Map App to learn more about the WPTC Plan and find links to related materials. 

What comes next?

Further PSC work sessions on the Plan are scheduled for February 8 and March 8, 2022, with a vote possible on March 8. The Design Commission will also continue work sessions on the WPTC Character Statement (found in Volume 2, Section 6) on January 27, 2022.

The PSC is expected to send their recommended version of the Plan to City Council in March. City Council will then review it and take testimony (verbal and written) starting in the Spring or early Summer 2022.
