Will this project rezone all the single-family zoning in the project area to multi-dwelling zoning?
The City has not yet determined the extent of the zone changes within the project area. Decisions about upzoning will be informed by community feedback.
What is the Infrastructure Assessment Report, and how does it relate to this project?
The Inner Eastside Infrastructure Assessment Report, published in September 2025, is a technical analysis that evaluates the ability of existing infrastructure in Inner Eastside to accommodate growth. It establishes a foundation to inform future planning for the Inner Eastside and helps to prioritize planning efforts and capital improvement projects across city bureaus.
The Infrastructure Assessment Report includes conceptual growth scenarios. Have decisions about upzoning already been made?
The conceptual growth scenarios included in the Infrastructure Assessment Report were developed for analysis purposes only and do not represent proposals or decisions.
The Inner Eastside Project will have multiple phases of community engagement to develop and refine the zoning proposals. The first phase of engagement – starting in late summer – will inform the initial proposals. Once the proposals are developed, they will be released for additional public review and comment.
