The Ezone Map Correction Project Proposed Draft was released in June 2020, including changes to the overlay zones that protect and manage the city’s environmentally sensitive and significant areas. Portland’s Planning and Sustainability Commission subsequently held two public hearings on the proposed changes to the ezones in July 2020 and February 2021.
Over the past year, project staff or consultants have conducted more than 600 site visits to verify where streams, wetlands, forests and slopes are located.
The information from the site visits, as well as other amendments, including exemptions to allow vegetation to be managed to reduce wildlife risks, have been incorporated into an amended Proposed Draft report and online maps.
On August 24, the PSC will hold an additional public hearing so Portlanders can have another opportunity to testify about the Ezone Map Correction Project’s updated maps and proposed code amendments. If you’d like to provide comments during the Zoom meeting, you must register through the PSC event listing by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021. Written testimony will be accepted via the Map App until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
