The Central City Code Amendments Project aims to address post-pandemic challenges in downtown Portland, focused on encouraging more housing and facilitating economic recovery and revitalization. Public comments on the Discussion Draft welcome through Friday, Feb. 13.

Expiration Date Extension Project and Central City 2035 Plan Re-Adoption
The Portland City Council recently adopted two projects that will have impacts on expiration dates and development in the Central City Plan District. Both projects will go into effect on August 10, 2020.

City Council re-adopts the Central City 2035 Plan with a 3–1 vote on July 8
The re-adopted plan goes back into effect on August 10, 2020; public comments invited on the re-adoption of administrative rules for bird-safe windows and low-carbon buildings.

Updates to the Central City Plan District
The final City Council vote on Central City 2035 Plan is scheduled for June 6, 2018. The plan would be effective on July 9, 2018 and is implemented through the Central City Plan District in the Portland Zoning Code.
