Don’t miss a pickup: Set bins out the night before

To protect the health and safety of waste collection drivers, collection will begin earlier than normal on Friday, June 25 and Monday, June 28, 2021. [Extended through Tuesday, June 29.] Pick up may occur as early as 4 a.m. Normal pickup hours resume Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

Earlier pickup times allow drivers to start in the cooler morning hours, reducing exposure to extreme temperatures and potential health risks.

Residential customers should set out their garbage, recycling, and compost bins the night before their collection day to avoid missing a pickup.

Monday, June 28: Recycling pickup may be delayed

Residential customers: If your collection day is Monday, June 28, 2021, it's possible your recycling bin may not be emptied. If this happens, you will be allowed to put out twice as much recycling next Monday. Regional waste facilities are closing early on Monday because of the extreme temperatures, and the City has directed garbage and recycling companies to prioritize garbage and compost pickup.
