About this workshop

Join Elsy Dinvil, proprietor and creator of Creole Me Up, which specializes in producing organic, allergen-free, and overall healthy Haitian food products, cooking classes, and catering. Dinvil will show us how to make Soup Joumou, a dish so important in Haitian culture it was added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Cook First PDX and Montavilla Farmers Market present: Fixin’ to Cook, a cooking demonstration series highlighting winter and early spring vegetables root to leaf. Each demonstration will include recipes, techniques, and resources to make it easier to get more vegetables on the table.

We’ll be live for Q&A and share information about the Double Up Food Bucks program—which provides a SNAP match at the farmers markets. New to the kitchen or a seasoned home cook, this series is for all curious eaters.

Have questions you want answered? Email them to fixitfair@portlandoregon.gov and we'll make sure they're covered!
