City Council holds public hearing on the Design Overlay Zone Amendment proposals

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Portland City Council held a public hearing on the joint recommendation from the Planning and Sustainability Commission and Design Commission to improve the City’s rules and processes for design review in its higher density neighborhoods.  

After hearing testimony from a wide range of stakeholders, Mayor Ted Wheeler closed the public hearing. However, written testimony on the DOZA proposals may be submitted until 5 pm on May 14 through the MapApp.  

City Council will discuss testimony on the project and their amendments at a work session on May 26, starting at 2 pm. No testimony will be taken at that time, but the session will be streamed live.
