Community Involvement Committee Meeting – Oct 2019


Swearing-In Ceremony (4:30pm)

NaTasha Gaskin, Program Assistant will lead a short ceremony honoring our incoming committee members as they become public officials. Swearing-In is required for incoming members. Existing members, guests and staff are strongly encouraged to attend as supporters.

Welcome and Announcements (5:00pm)

Nikoyia Phillips, CIC Coordinator will provide an overview of the agenda for the evening and announcements.

Special Call (5:10pm)

Joe Zehnder, Chief Planner, will discuss plans for the recruitment and scope of the 2019- 2020 BPS Budget Advisory Committee.

Shared Learning (5:20pm)

Marty Stockton, Urban Planner, will discuss the core functions of our bureau’s role in land use and transportation decisions and provide a high-level overview of the legislative process.

Movement Break and Dinner (6:00pm)

Catered by Lion’s Breath Gourmet Catering. Vegetarian options available.

Work Session (6:10pm)

Committee members will begin scoping and workshopping the early stages of chartering, bureau policy development and project reviews.

Close and Next Steps (6:50pm)

A meeting evaluation followed by a summary of what to expect at the November 12, 2019 meeting.

The next Community Involvement Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday November 12, 2019 at 5pm at 1900 SW 4th Avenue, Portland, 7th floor. There is no meeting in December 2019.
