This is the first reading of the proposed ordinance where City Council will discuss the item. City Council can vote on the ordinance during the second reading, which typically occurs one to three weeks after the initial reading.

City Council welcomes public testimony

To submit oral testimony, members of the public must sign up in advance to testify before Council in-person or virtually.

  • Registration for virtual testimony closes 1 hour prior to the Council meeting. The link to register is posted in the agenda for the City Council hearing by 9 a.m. the Friday before the hearing.
  • In-person testifiers must sign up before the agenda item is heard.

Written testimony must be submitted by the start of the hearing, to be considered by the City Council.
