Develops and implements citywide training programs to deliver learning and development opportunities that support the City’s goal to foster a knowledgeable and diverse workforce.
Training topics include:
- Respectful workplace, cultural competency and equity
- Communications skills
- Management and supervisory development
- Professional development, including project management, customer service, negotiations skills, writing for business, computer and technical skills, and many other topics
- New employee onboarding
BHR Training manages CityLearner, the citywide learning administration and tracking system, and partners with other learning institutions and entities to provide workforce development and training opportunities. We also offer programs in mentorship, Work Study, leadership skills and talent development as part of the City of Portland’s Employer of Choice initiative through various agencies, colleges and universities.
Access CityLearner
CityLearner, the City’s online system for managing employee training and development programs, allows employees to access their personal training history and complete eLearning courses as well as browse the catalog, view, and book courses.
