Joint Statement from the City of Portland and AFSCME

City of Portland and AFSCME reach tentative agreement

After almost 18 hours at the bargaining table yesterday, AFSCME Local 189 representing nearly 1,100 city workers, and the City of Portland reached a tentative agreement, avoiding a strike.

Now that the two sides have reached a tentative agreement, members of AFSCME Local 189 and Portland City Council will vote to ratify the agreement. Details of that vote will be forthcoming.
