What are GreenBucks?
GreenBucks are voluntary contributions by City of Portland sewer and stormwater ratepayers to support maintenance of green stormwater management facilities at public schools in Portland. Green stormwater facilities improve watershed health, provide educational opportunities for students and neighbors, and can reduce onsite stormwater fees.
The City encourages construction of green stormwater management facilities through new development requirements, grants, technical assistance, outreach, and education.
Regular maintenance is important to keep green stormwater facilities functioning properly. Maintenance includes weeding, pruning, mulching, removing debris or sediment, replanting/replacing vegetation, repairing drains or gutters, and irrigation.
