The City's Bureau of Environmental Services maintains the public sewer system and has the authority to develop policies and issue permits for work that involves connecting to the public system. The proposed changes impact rules for:
- Permits to connect to the system, also called UC permits, and permits to repair sewer laterals, also called UR permits. Read the current administrative rule ENB-4.17.
- Use of Cured-in-Place Pipe Lining, or CIPP, for privately owned laterals in the public right-of-way. Read the current administrative rule ENB-4.33
- Environmental Services' enforcement program, which assesses violations of the bureau's policies and corresponding penalties. Read the current administrative rule ENB-4.15
