Environmental Services is closing lanes along three portions of SE Grand Avenue for emergency repair work. Northbound traffic on SE Grand will continue to have at least two lanes open. The traveling public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, and use alternate routes if possible. Lane closures are as follows:
- One lane will also be closed on SE Grand Avenue between SE Stephens Street and SE Market Street for all hours, all days. Work has already begun. Due to changing weather conditions, the lane closure is expected to stay in place until mid-November.
- One lane will be closed for all hours, all days, on SE Grand Avenue at SE Salmon Street. Repair work is expected to stay in place until mid-November.
- One lane will also be closed on SE Grand Avenue and SE Ankeny Street for all hours, all days. Work has already begun. The lane closure is expected to stay in place until mid-November.
The repair work to stabilize soils around maintenance hole risers on SE Grand Avenue is part of the Grand Avenue Risers Stabilization Project. Unstable soils in the work areas at both locations have caused an uneven roadway, requiring immediate repair. This problem is what the Grand Avenue Risers Stabilization Project is meant to fix long-term.
Local access to residences and businesses will remain available. Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open for pedestrians. Parking near the work zone will be restricted during construction.
As always, please keep our crews safe by following all traffic control signs and flaggers while traveling through or near work zones. Go slow when traveling on alternate routes.
Public transit riders should check TriMet.org for service impacts or delays to bus routes. Check PortlandStreetcar.org for any delays to the B Loop Streetcar service.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience while we complete this work.
