Downtown Urgent Sewer Repairs Project

Construction began in June 2020 and will continue through October 2021.
Environmental Services is constructing urgent repairs to 3,600 feet of 140-year-old public sewer pipes that are in very poor condition in downtown Portland. At a high risk of collapsing, the pipes require repairs to protect the public, buildings, and streets from sewage releases and flooding.

SW Main-Taylor Sewer Project

Project design continues. Construction is anticipated to begin in early October of 2021 and take a year to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to repair 10,765 feet, or two miles, of aging public sewer pipes in downtown Portland. Having provided 100 to 150 years of service, the pipes require repairs to reduce the risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to downtown buildings and streets.
Two sewer service lateral repairs remain in the project.
Environmental Services will repair public sewer service laterals in SW Washington Street between SW Park Avenue and SW 10th Avenue in downtown Portland. The repairs will help prevent sewage backups into buildings and streets.

SW Market-Madison Sewer Project

Environmental Services is designing the next in a series of projects to repair and replace aging public sewer pipes in downtown Portland that are in poor condition. The pipes require attention to reduce the risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to buildings and streets.

SW 13th Avenue Sewer Extension

Project design will continue through October of 2021. Construction is anticipated to begin in November and take three months to complete.
Environmental Services has nearly completed design of a project to extend the public sewer 140 feet into SW 13th Avenue between SW Jefferson and SW Columbia streets. This will resolve a nonconforming sewer connection and provide a property an independent connection to the public sewer.
