Downtown Urgent Sewer Repairs Project

Environmental Services has completed construction for this project.
Environmental Services has completed construction of urgent repairs to 3,600 feet of 140-year-old public sewer pipes in downtown Portland that were in very poor condition. At a high risk of collapsing, the pipes required repairs to protect buildings and streets from sewage releases and flooding.
Design continues for one remaining sewer service lateral repair. Construction will occur sometime this year.
Environmental Services is designing a sewer service lateral repair in SW Washington Street between SW Park Avenue and SW 10th Avenue in downtown Portland. The repair will help prevent backups into buildings and streets during periods of heavy flows of combined sewage and stormwater.

SW Main-Taylor Sewer Project

Environmental Services is constructing a project to repair 10,765 feet, or two miles, of aging public sewer pipes in downtown Portland. Having provided 100 to 150 years of service, the pipes require repairs to reduce risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to downtown buildings and streets.

SW Market-Madison Sewer Project

Project design will continue through this year. Construction is anticipated to begin in March of 2023 and take a year to complete.
Environmental Services is designing a project to repair 11,720 feet (more than two miles) of public sewer pipes in downtown Portland. Having provided up to 140 years of service, the pipes require repairs to reduce the risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to downtown buildings and streets.
