Active
Environmental Services is repairing an 800 linear foot portion of the elevated 30-inch Tryon Creek Trunk Sewer located between the Tryon Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and Highway 43. These repairs will extend the life of the pipeline by 20 years and prevent sewage from leaking into Tryon Creek.
Construction is resuming in late July or early August 2022. The project should be complete by October 2022.

General Schedule

Crews will resume work in late July or early August 2022. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturdays if needed. Construction should be completed by October 2022.

Construction began in August 2021 and had to pause in October 2021 due to the length of time it took to receive special permits on site and wet weather conditions.  Crews winterized and secured the construction site to seismically reinforce the piers and joints, completed the access road, and removed several trees that were obstructing access to the pipe.
