SW Terwilliger at Northgate Sewer Repair

Sewer and Stormwater
Environmental Services will repair a sag in a 350-foot section of sewer pipe in SW Terwilliger Boulevard. The repair is located west of SW Northgate Ave (east of Powers Court and west of Castleridge Lane).
The construction schedule is uncertain at this time. It is likely not to begin before the summer of 2022.

Project Area

The map below illustrates the repair location.

Project Background

In 2017, Environmental Services installed a new sewer line on SW Terwilliger Boulevard from SW Powers Court to Highway 43. Several months following construction, a sag was discovered in a 350-foot section located west of SW Northgate Avenue (east of Powers Court and west of Castleridge Lane). The section of pipe is not operating according to bureau standards, needing to be cleaned and maintained frequently. Engineers suspect that a mix of very soft soils and high groundwater at this location caused the pipe to sag, which slows or prohibits sewage from moving through the pipe.
