Environmental Services Excess and Surplus Properties

Information
Find information, process, and schedules for properties that Environmental Services has identified as surplus and is posting for sale.

When Environmental Services determines that it no longer needs a property it owns, the bureau first offers the property for sale to other City bureaus and offices and Council offices. If there is no interest, Environmental Services will either prepare an ordinance for the City Council to hear or, if it is a Category 3 property, begin the community notification process. Community notification begins with a 60-day notification period of the proposed disposition and invites public comment from property owners, neighborhood associations, business associations, Prosper Portland, Metro, TriMet, the Port of Portland, the county, and the State of Oregon.

Once the Portland City Council designates the property as surplus, the Council authorizes Environmental Services to place the property on the market for sale. Find links to Environmental Services' surplus properties and properties for sale on this page.
