Public Hearings on Proposed Tree Code Amendments

Get information about upcoming public hearings on proposed tree code amendments in the City of Portland.

An updated staff proposal was published in mid-August. There is a series of briefings and hearings scheduled with the Planning and Sustainability Commission, the Urban Forestry Commission, and the Portland City Council, before the City Council votes on recommended code changes. You can testify on the proposals orally or in writing.

  • Thursday, Aug. 20: Urban Forestry Commission Briefing. This is an opportunity for staff to brief the Commission on the staff report and proposals in advance of the public hearing. The briefing is open to the public, but no public testimony was taken.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 25: Planning and Sustainability Commission Briefing. This is an opportunity for staff to brief the Commission on the staff report and proposals in advance of the public hearing.   • Tuesday, Sept. 8: Planning and Sustainability Commission and Urban Forestry Commission joint public hearing. Public testimony was heard at this hearing.
