Beginning July 1, 2021, fees for building permit applications are proposed to increase, subject to final consideration by the Portland City Council and the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners (for unincorporated areas in Multnomah County) this spring. Click here to read more about the proposed fee increases. 

To submit an application under the current fees, please follow all the guidelines listed below before the June 30, 2021 deadline:

  1. Submit permit application via Development Hub PDX by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2021; AND
  2. The permit application must meet submittal requirements; AND
  3. You must respond to any requests for more information you may receive from Permitting Services, Planning and Zoning or Life and Safety review groups. Delayed responses might mean missing the deadline; AND
  4. Pay intake fees in full before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

If you can't apply using Development Hub PDX, please schedule an appointment to drop off your application in person. To submit an application under the current fees, drop off your completed application package no later than 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Please follow the guidelines below. Directions on scheduling an appointment for in-person drop off.

  1. The permit application must meet submittal requirements; AND
  2. You must respond to any requests for more information you may receive from Permitting Services, Planning and Zoning or Life and Safety review groups. Delayed responses might mean missing the deadline; AND
  3. Pay intake fees in full before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
