The Bureau of Development Services appreciates your business and your patience as we adjust our services in response to evolving budgetary conditions, furloughs and holidays, and improvements to our permitting processes.

We will be closed on Friday, June 19, for the Juneteenth holiday.

Juneteenth, traditionally celebrated on June 19, marks the anniversary of the date in 1865 when orders reached Galveston, Texas, emancipating slaves following the end of the Civil War and in keeping with the Emancipation Proclamation issued by President Lincoln in 1862.

BDS will resume its modified operations for the COVID-19 public health emergency on Monday, June 22.

Due to recent budget cuts as a result of COVID-19, employees are taking occasional unpaid furlough days through October. These may result in delays in delivery of services.

We continue to work on improvements to receive and process new permits electronically. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to offer exceptional customer service during these challenging times.
