Fees for building code appeals increasing Dec. 1; Administrative Appeals Board will not meet on Dec. 2, Dec. 30

News article

In recognition of the cost of doing business during a pandemic, and due to the increased complexity of processing appeals (building, mechanical, plumbing electrical and floating structures), the fees for submitting appeals have been adjusted.

These fees are in keeping with other fees at the Bureau of Development Services that will increase on Dec. 1.

Beginning Dec. 1, 2020, fees for building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and floating structures appeals will be:

  • Commercial appeal fee (up to 4 items): $501
  • Residential appeal fee (up to 4 items): $250
  • Additional item fee (anything over 4 items, submitted on each appeal): $125

The fee increases will apply to any appeals submitted for the Dec. 9 docket of the Administrative Appeals Board.  Please mark your calendars.

Also, there will be no meetings of the Administrative Appeals Board on Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Wednesday, Dec. 30. Please plan your appeal submittals accordingly. The regular submittal deadline of 9 a.m. Thursday will continue through the holidays.
